Washington, DC, September 1, 2009 – The University of Denver (DU) Daniels College of Business has appointed John S. Hale, founder of communications firm MINDWEST Strategies, as Vice Chair of its Alumni Advisory Board.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for service,” said Hale. “Under the leadership of Dr. Christine Riordan, Daniels’ new Dean, we are undertaking significant outreach among our more than 30,000 graduates in 70 countries worldwide.”

Daniels alumni include leaders in business and government, including Peter Coors, Chairman of Molson Coors Brewing Company; Sen. Byron Dorgan; Sen. Michael Enzi; James Kennedy, Chairman of Cox Enterprises; Ted Kleisner, President of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts; Joseph Saunders, Chairman and CEO of VISA; Andrew Taylor, Chairman and CEO of Enterprise Rent-a-Car; and Pamela Turbeville, former President and CEO of NAVISTAR Financial.

Daniels College of Business is the nation’s eighth oldest business college.  Among the approximately 550 business schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), Daniels is among the top 15 percent of undergraduate programs and the top five percent of graduate programs.

The Wall Street Journal has ranked DU’s business school in the top 10 in the nation for ethics and corporate social responsibility. Daniels is ranked among the best by Business Week, U.S. News & World Report, The Financial Times and the “Beyond Grey Pinstripes” report of the Aspen Institute.

Hale received the Colorado Governor’s Award for scholastic achievement during his time as a graduate student at DU, then was selected in the first class of Presidential Management Fellows.  He served nearly a decade in the Executive Office of the President and over 15 years in business and enterprise development.

Hale is also a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and the University of Colorado.
