Jurgen Appelo, a Dutch entrepreneur and technologist, has compiled a useful list of important books in “social media.” Appelo has integrated six Web metrics as a tangible, timely indicator of market response: number of Google hits, number of Amazon ratings, average Amazon rating, number of GoodReads ratings, average GoodReads rating, and release date. Appelo did a similar ranking of the top 100 management books (found at the MINDWEST group on LinkedIn.) Of the top 100 social media books (rankings and methodology) — the Top 25 are shown below:
